Meet “Generation Barney,” a podcast about the media we loved as kids and how it shapes us. It’s about the purple dinosaur. But it’s also about music and love and backlash and toys and nostalgia. Most of all, it’s about the television that helps us become who we are, from the station that helped launch Barney into the world.

This podcast did an excellent job of explaining how Barney began, the rise of its popularity, and interviews they conducted with former staff. One of the more fascinating portions was about the groups who despised... more
… we get to remind ourselves why programs like Barney and Friends inspired a complete generation, just before society became dependent on internet-centric technology. As much as Generation Barney scratches the millennial crowd’s itch for ‘90s/2000s children’s culture, it also proves that entities like PBS are imperative to the survival of a population. This show is a testament to the power of empathy and connection in an age bordering on apathy and isolationism. May we all remember Barney for th... more

I been a huge fan of Barney since I was little and this documentary became the best Barney documentary ever especially when it was recorded by the same place where they pitched Barney from home videos to PBS. I give ... more
