A sad, if fond, farewell

Now that we've gone through the science behind climate change, and knocked down most of the kooks surrounding the issue, it's time to talk about what we're up against. In this episode, I spend a bit under 30 minutes laying out the most likely future ... more

Since the opponents of the climate change consensus have had their turn, now it's time to give the supporters of the consensus a little working over. Since this is the seventh episode in a series, I'd recommend that before listening to this episode, ... more

A couple of Geek Counterpoint listeners (thanks, Travis and Bill!) pointed me to a show recently aired on BBC channel 4 called "The Great Global Warming Swindle." It purports to be a documentary, and is uniformly critical of the science behind climat... more

  • Still hoping for more "Lorne"

I keep hoping to hear more from "Lorne" somewhere, but to no avail. This was a great, but too short run of critical thinking/skeptical podcasts.

  • great podcast!

This is great. Well researched content, put forward succinctly and in an impartial manner. The editing is hilarious but I'm very glad it's there as I feel Mr. Ipsum might have a tendancy to ramble in his deliciously ' mug of cocoa ' late-night drawl. Quality information.

  • Very good

There is an eclectic mix of topics and each is well researched. The scripting could be better. Honestly sometimes if he says "For what it's worth..", "...or what have you" or "so to speak" again I'm gonna go insane. However it is well worth getting over these quibbles as Lorne Ipsum is engaging and when talking space hardware, enthusiatstic and presents the subject of critical thinking without the usual self-satisfied gloating of other skeptic oriented casts. Really good stuff with good and inte... more

  • Soundbite science antithesis

To thoroughly understand a scientific topic can be time-consuming if you want to be accurate. With the recent focus on climate change, I signed up for the podcast and listened to the 5 episodes to give myself a better background. Lorne Ipsum condensed a lot of background detail and analysis into them--much more informative than news clips and superficial documentaries.
