  • Great if you like political commentary from your plumber

“Go back in time, change the butterfly ballot in Florida, and change History “. I never understand why podcaster limit their audience to half the population by injecting their uniformed and irrelevant political views.

  • Too many ads lasting way too long

The hosts are awesome and the content is great, but the ads are just unbearable. Too long, too many, and too repetitive. Like 30% or more of the episodes is just the same repeating ads.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Becoming Martian (featuring Dr. Scott Solomon)
Q: What made you want to write this book in particular?
Solomon explains that the book extends his previous work on human evolution by exploring what happens when some people leave Earth and begin to adapt to Mars, emphasizing environmental drivers and whether a new path of evolution is plausible.
Listener Questions #32
Q: I have a question about time and why it goes forward; is it tied to the expansion of the universe or something else?
Time has multiple competing descriptions: in relativity space and time form a single four‑dimensional entity, but entropy in thermodynamics introduces an arrow of time. The expansion of the universe is not strictly required for time to go forward, though it correlates with increasing entropy in our cosmos; the true reason remains an open question.
Listener Questions #31
Q: Why are you saying you can measure the charge of a black hole?
While the total charge of a black hole can be theoretically derived, we currently do not have methods to measure it directly due to the complexities of quantum forces.
Listener Questions #31
Q: How much do our attempts to relieve various symptoms actually hinder our body's natural mechanisms for fighting diseases?
Research suggests that high fevers can help the body fight infections because they are more detrimental to pathogens than to human cells. Thus, medications that lower fevers might inhibit the immune response.
Why does the Universe minimize action?
Q: What is the coolest demonstration you have done for your students as a teacher?
One of the coolest demonstrations I did was using a homemade cloud chamber to show muons flying through the air, revealing the complexity of the universe around us.
