  • Fantastic pod

This really is excellent. We are spoiled with good physics podcasts and this is one of the best. The only “problem” for me is that i only discovered it last week so it will take me 18 months at least to go through them all. 12 down, 688 to go!

  • Ruined by "Webspeak"

This podcast bolsters my conclusion that nowadays academics are simply incapable of speaking for even five minutes without injecting "you know?", "right?", "sort of", "kind of", and "I mean". It's too bad, because, while the subject matter is interesting and the presenters seem knowledgeable, eventually this is all I could hear. So I've stopped listening.

  • This show went from an annoying up-talker co-host to a co- host Kelly who has the most upsetting shrill voice, and who needs to back-off the mic .... cease yelling into it !!!!!

Does the show editor not note the drastic change in octave levels between the two! I have to FF Yelly kelly input 😕

    ***Beware***

DO NOT listen with ear buds!

Stupid useless banter precedes every main topic.

Lose female co-host, she contributes zero to pod!

    Topics are interesting.

  • Really enjoyable

I truly love your content. I look forward to your show every night in hopes of there being a new one. I will admit there is a stark contrast in the tones of voice between Daniel and Kelly that could be tweaked in the editing, but I love what you both bring to the table for content and personality. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to research these topics so frequently and creating each episode. I hope to one day have a question worthy of dissection to submit. I’m not shy, I just don’t s... more

  • Excellent Podcast

This show truly is extraordinary. Daniel and Kelly make science both approachable and understandable, with a healthy dose of laughter. Most importantly and unlike some, they clearly articulate theory versus fact, as well as when science simply doesn’t have an explanation. Great show!

Listener Questions #22
Q: What is the difference between a theory, a law, a hypothesis, and a model?
Theories are our explanations for how the universe works; laws are truths the universe follows; models are simplified versions to help us predict and understand, and hypotheses are tests of those models.
Listener Questions #22
Q: What are the chances that the comet Atlas has some sort of unknown virus or bacteria that could impact Earth?
We're not gonna pass through any sort of dense part of its tail and it's not like it's gonna leave a long wake that we're gonna fly right through.
How do parasites evade our immune system? (featuring Dr. John Hawdon)
Q: What makes developing a vaccine for parasitic infections so difficult?
It's considerably challenging due to the complex life cycles and immune evasion strategies of parasites like schistosomes and hookworms.
Listener Questions #21 featuring Cat Bohannan
Q: Have there been any positive or symbiotic benefits resulting from viral infections?
Some viruses can offer immune system benefits at certain life stages but can be harmful in infancy or later in life, indicating a complex relationship between hosts and viruses.
Listener Questions #21 featuring Cat Bohannan
Q: Can humans really lift a great deal of weight in times of great stress?
Yes, during intense stress, adrenaline can temporarily lift normal physical limitations, enabling what's known as hysterical strength, but not all reports may accurately represent full weight lifting capabilities.
