A joy to learn about this podcast and open my eyes to the incredible history, skill and community of bell ringing. Each episode is unique and a great listen!
This is a great podcast for both the experienced bellringer and also anybody who is just has a general interest in bellringing, maybe because they have friends or relative who ring.
Cathy who produces the podcast doesn’t ring herself but is married to a bellringer, so it never get too technical and she often asks questions which fill in the gaps in knowledge that you might not know you have.
The sound quality and editing is excellent which make them a very easy listen.
Highly recommended.
Fun with bells is the only podcast I've ever listened to. As a ringer for well over 60 years these podcasts are a goldmine of fascinating ringing subjects. I thoroughly recommend any ringer to dip into them. Non-ringers will find lots of interesting subjects too.
Having taken part in a couple of episodes I know how much care Cathy Booth takes in producing in producing such professional podcasts which are so easy to listen to.
I thoroughly enjoy listening to the podcast. It covers things I would expect (learning techniques, recruiting, etc) and then gives additional fun surprises (beasts in the belfry and clothing mishaps!). The variation in topics makes this a great podcast to listen to and I enjoy learning more about this wonderful hobby (passion!), its community and traditions. I would highly recommend this to anyone with even a passing interest in bellringing, English traditions and history.
