A friend shared one episode of this podcast last week, and I have now listened to a dozen episodes. I can’t stop. The hosts are generous with each other, with themselves, with their experiences. I feel at ease as I listen.
Well, that’s a lie. I feel as if I’m teetering on the edge of a grief abyss, a rage abyss. I have wept and fumed. So much has been stolen from me and countless others.
But I’m grateful for this nearly step-by-step pathway out of purity culture. Thank you for naming things.... more
Love every minute of this podcast. As a former southern baptist pastor who deconstructed in a major way this podcast has been a big part of my reconstruction. It has helped me formulate a better love focused theology, helped me escape the guilt I felt around sex caused by being a victim of both childhood sexual abuse and church purity culture, and increased the health of my marriage. 100% recommend this podcast!
What I love about this podcast is the vulnerability and openness of the hosts. This concept of sexuality being connected with spirituality is something I’ve never really explored. When I’m being honest it makes so much sense! Why would this big part of us NOT be God breathed? They have been helping me on my own journey of healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. It’s been great, it’s been hard, it’s been satisfying. Happy to continue to be moving forward and deepening the intimacy with my spous... more
my friend told me about this podcast recently and i’m drinking the episodes in like WATER. These conversations have been PIVOTAL in beginning to heal from spiritual abuse and integrate back into my body after being told for so long that my body was inherently bad. I am so grateful for this!
A beautifully safe space where difficult subjects are lovingly brought out into the light. Growing up in Purity Culture, I am just now, at age 40, learning about my body and how to enter into these conversations. Thank you, Fun Parts for opening up this space and allowing us to journey together.
