"What is the gospel?" The responses you might hear continuously return to an inward-looking faith instead of a faith that clings externally to the astonishing mercy of Christ Jesus, who took the sin of the world into Himself on the cross and breathed out His life for and onto His creation. In this act of sacrifice, Jesus is indeed the sacrificial Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. Through H... more

The For You Podcast enteres a new era, and Craig and Troy kick it off with a discussion on how God works in our lives through tangible means.

The Day of the Lord ever hastens closer . . . but why hasn't it come yet? When nearly 2000 years have passed from when Jesus said He'd return, what are we supposed to think when He hasn't yet? Craig and Troy finish up with Peter's 2nd epistle.

Craig and Troy return to 2nd Peter, taking a deeper look at the false prophets Peter warns us about. Who are these, and why are they blots and blemishes on the church and her fellowship?

. . . and He also knows how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment. Craig and Troy step back into 2 Peter, studying the arising of false prophets and our appropriate and bilblical reaction to them. But what can we, as bele... more

  • Informative, sound Bible teaching, funny

Not too erudite. Bible teaching for the average pew sitter. I also enjoy the sense of humor and rapport between them. They are not irreverent in their approach but the humor makes it so accessible and has an entertaining value. You had me at Crisco Camels.

Also- they tell us the Gospel every week!!!

The true gospel. They don’t shy away from talking about Sin and our need for forgiveness.

  • Great Podcast, Great Network

I found 1517 a few years ago through a recommendation for the Thinking Fellows podcast, and from there I have gone through almost all of the podcasts on this network and backlogging through them to get all of the wonderful content that they have put out. I graduated from a Lutheran institution a few years ago and was a bit burnt out on my faith, but I can honestly say that these podcasts have been the main reason why my faith has been revitalized and has become even stronger these past few years... more

  • The Click and Clack of theology

These guys remind me of that Car Talk radio show that was hosted by Click and Clack. Only, these guys get under the hood of your soul and tinker around to see what’s broken. Once they find the problem, they help to fix it by applying the good news of Jesus Christ crucified for the forgiveness of your sins. Their dialogue and mannerisms may leave casual hearers with the impression that these guys are just backwoods “mechanics” who will root around in your “car” for a case of beer. But don’t l... more
