  • Not a fan

i’ve been a listener for a while and today I’ve had enough and am going to unfollow the show. I don’t like the feeling I get that I have to have them for training to be successful. I was listening to the show today and they were putting down people because they said they were getting stronger at the gym…Apparently, that’s a bad thing? These dudes are pretty arrogant and full of themselves and I’m over it. GOOD BYE.

826: Motivation Monday - Why You Aren't Losing Weight In A Calorie deficit, Training To Failure & Optimal Workout Duration
Q: do you need to train to failure?
Training to failure is not required; it can be a useful tool in certain finishing movements or to gauge reps in the tank, but relying on it for every set is inefficient and can increase injury risk. A practical approach is to leave about one to three reps in reserve per exercise, using failure strategically for specific movements or at the end of a workout when appropriate.
818: Motivation Monday - When Should You End a Bulk? The Truth About Fibre & Why You Weigh More When You're Sick
Q: If you've been bulking and in a surplus of 250 to 500 calories, how do you know when to do a cut? Is there a body fat percentage range you would recommend?
It depends on the individual's goals and how they feel; some people tolerate larger bulks when motivated by goals or body composition, while others cut when they feel unhappy with current physique; use context, goals, and how you feel rather than fixed numbers.
818: Motivation Monday - When Should You End a Bulk? The Truth About Fibre & Why You Weigh More When You're Sick
Q: Why do you recommend fiber so much for fitness?
Fiber acts as a proxy for diet quality, increases satiety, aids digestion and gut health, and is linked to better overall health outcomes; the recommendation is tailored to fit calories and individual goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
820: Motivation Monday - How to Get Back on Track After Weekends Away, Handle Summer Social Eating & Stop Fitness Comparison
Q: How can I get over the habit of comparing myself to others on their fitness journeys?
Shift focus to your own trajectory, celebrate small wins, and use others' progress as inspiration rather than a benchmark for self-worth. Accept that everyone progresses at different rates, and build your plan around your unique circumstances while maintaining accountability and self-compassion.
820: Motivation Monday - How to Get Back on Track After Weekends Away, Handle Summer Social Eating & Stop Fitness Comparison
Q: How can I make good choices at restaurants during social events or vacations?
Log a plan in advance for what you'll order, set limits on cravings and drinks, and choose options that align with your goals. If you're unsure, pre-log a couple of safer choices and decide in advance to stick with them, giving yourself permission to enjoy without overdoing it.
