  • Refreshing and Informative

I love Bradee’s approach of combining heavy lifts that mimic athletic, outdoor hiking movements for a healthy mindset around nutrition. Her workouts kick my butt, but by doing them consistently I have become a better hiker and snowboarder.

She drops so many golden nuggets to us listeners- give it a listen and take notes!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 149 Why Hormones Affect Fat Loss with Functional Practitioner Mehvish Khan
Q: When should someone consider a hormone panel, and what should be tested?
Test on day three or four of the cycle for most hormones (FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone, estradiol, SHBG) and progesterone on day 21; full panels annually or biannually, including thyroid and vitamin D, iron, and related markers.
Ep. 149 Why Hormones Affect Fat Loss with Functional Practitioner Mehvish Khan
Q: So what are the most common hormone imbalances you see, and how do they present?
Estrogen-dominance patterns and thyroid-related symptoms are common, with overlapping signs across conditions; cycle changes and sleep, mood, and weight issues often signal underlying hormonal misbalance, not just isolated high or low hormones.
Ep. 126 Moving Abroad + Swiss Hiking Adventures with Alex Bornhoft
Q: How would someone decode the Swiss trail rating system and all the signage to pick routes that match their ability?
The trails are well marked and categorized into different levels, from walking paths to mountain and alpine trails; understanding your own abilities and the trail's elevation gain is crucial.
Ep. 126 Moving Abroad + Swiss Hiking Adventures with Alex Bornhoft
Q: What made you so passionate about trekking and led you to where you are today?
I didn't grow up outdoorsy at all, but became passionate about hiking after meeting my husband, who introduced me to hiking; it grew into a business as I began helping others plan their hiking adventures.
Ep. 122 Workout Mistakes That May Be Keeping You Stuck w/ Coach Kristen (rerun)
Q: Have you always practiced progressive overload in your workouts?
No, initially she didn't practice it and experienced limited results; it wasn't until she applied the concept that she saw improvements in strength and physique.
