  • Great Conversation

I love this podcast. I want to make a note in Mike’s recent interview. Him speaking about why he did not go for Ivy League baseball. I feel like there was a missing piece in his belief system of his parents. Children can’t not chase their dreams unless it’s an agreement on the parents part as well. When you’re a child you can’t see how your current decisions will affect your future, but the adults in your life can. As a mother, if my child has a dream and wants to do all the little mundane thing... more

    Dear Michael,

I just listened to that episode you did with Nir Eyal on belief’s. I just wanted to tell you that I found this to be very true because in the past, I was having some difficulty falling asleep.

I did not want to get into the whole medication thing. So what I did was take a white Tick Tack (knowing that it was placebo, but hoping it would work to give me some shut eye). To my amazement it did. Even though I knew it was a placebo.

The Psychology Of Spirituality | Dr. Lisa Miller

High personal spirituality with or without religion provides strong protective effects, including around 80% protection against addiction and about 82% protection against completed suicide in the data analyzed.
The Psychology Of Spirituality | Dr. Lisa Miller
Q: What is the core definition of spirituality in Miller's framework?
Spirituality is a capacity to perceive a transcendent relationship, not a belief; it involves a neural basis for perceiving love, guidance, and connection, and is shaped largely by environmental factors.
The Psychology of Being a Super Communicator | Charles Duhigg
Q: What can I do to help my kids or spouse connect better in conversations?
Use the practice of asking if they want to be helped, hugged, or heard, and tailor your response to what they need in that moment, then progress from practical to emotional to social as appropriate.
The Psychology of Being a Super Communicator | Charles Duhigg
Q: If I knew what you knew, how would I be a better leader?
Ask thoughtful questions that reveal the other person's perspective and values, then use that understanding to guide better decision-making rather than simply imparting your own viewpoint.
The Psychology of Limiting Beliefs | Nir Eyal
Q: What is a belief, in your view?
A belief is a conviction that sits between fact and faith, open to revision based on new evidence, acting as a tool to guide behavior.
