Folklore has been used for generations to share stories across cultures. Each week this season Rachael and Mindy, walk the winding path of folklore. They ask how the stories we tell influence today’s culture and how we view women. From murder ballads to fairytales, we discuss the power these stories have over us all. It won’t be just sad but maybe, just maybe, also uplifting.

I love this show. So important to be able to critically examine media, even folklore media. I hope this show comes back soon!
Listen to it every morning
I really wanted to enjoy and learn from your podcast; however, I was so unnerved that you would push the Gardasil vaccine in your introduction that I struggled to understand why and struggled to move further into your retelling of folklore. The sacred woman body is a a contested human landscape and needs to be owned by the owner and not a corporation. I will not cancel out your unique voices in folklore retelling, but I hope you are mindful of how the soulless mega corporations push their bottom... more
Wanted to like it. I'd been hoping for a podcast like this, discussing lore. One that delves into the origins of fairy tales is a bonus, fem lore?, Even better! What a disappointment. These are two ladies chit chatting about this stuff and barely scratching the surface. I assume the conversational format is meant to be engaging but their speech affectations make them sound sorta - not smart. Rachel dropping the word "right?" after everything she says got annoying fast. "Riiiieeee'?" Ugh.
