Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

NAOKI SONODA: OMNI-RINSE / BEHIND THE BAR / WHOSE GOT THE STICKY SHAKER
Q: How do you see the future of Omni-Rinse and your product line evolving in relation to market adoption?
Bucket A remains: continue releasing product iterations with a clear financial plan for development, promotion, and inventory, while ensuring market adoption so that installations become common in bars, coffee shops, and other venues, enabling broader product development once the core solution is established.
NAOKI SONODA: OMNI-RINSE / BEHIND THE BAR / WHOSE GOT THE STICKY SHAKER
Q: What was the biggest hurdle in moving from prototype to production, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest hurdle was finding reliable, local manufacturing and adapting designs to real-world constraints; we dealt with that by engaging a Michigan contract manufacturer for initial runs, discovering design flaws, and then partnering with a Chicago-area supplier to properly build the final unit and iterate quickly.
NAOKI SONODA: OMNI-RINSE / BEHIND THE BAR / WHOSE GOT THE STICKY SHAKER
Q: Where do you start when turning an idea into a tangible product, and what was your starting process?
I started with a simple sketch and tested early concepts with basic materials to confirm feasibility, then iteratively improved through prototyping, involving a local engineer to validate the approach and gradually moving toward production readiness.
MARIO GOMEZ-HALL: ZEST / DEATH OF THE 1 STAR REVIEW / LYFT TO LUNCH
Q: What do you think, if anything, knocks off cafes for the number one spot this coming year?
Quick service restaurants due to their convenience are likely to become more prominent, but we are also breaking out cafes into a separate category.
MARIO GOMEZ-HALL: ZEST / DEATH OF THE 1 STAR REVIEW / LYFT TO LUNCH
Q: How do you find that happy medium when you're designing this app?
We want AI to replace the mundane and let users focus on creativity while keeping the app informed by personal dining history.
