Everyone has an inner manager who helps them organize their life. They’re super useful, but can’t help you write your story.

Whether you’re ghost writing or working entirely from your own inspiration, we’re all on assignment in one way or another.

You don’t have to write for two or three hours a day to be a successful writer. Even 30 minutes a day can be enough to stay connected to your work and write a book of any length.

Writing teaches us that how we feel is more important than anything. Don’t wait until you publish the book or win the award to feel successful. Seek it now in any way you can.

  • LISTEN, LEARN, LIFT YOUR PEN WITH JOY

I have been a loyal fan of Bill’s “writing tips, hints, suggestions, kind advice on writing struggles “ for years. I am telling you, his author interviews, his podcast, YouTube videos have helped this woman ( me) since I have dealt with learning disabilities for decades ( let’s just say, I adore my granddaughters) .

I was diagnosed with ADHD, dyslexia, ( of course by different names…hyperactive, etc), OCD ( perfectionism) and this was not just holding me back but locking me in fear of grasping ... more

  • Refreshing!

I can too easily find myself caught up in the “business” side of writing because yes, it matters to know how the system works. But honestly, focusing on that can be quite draining and soul-wrenching. But I can be lured back into seminars on how to write a great query or what publishers care about and can become stuck in that mindset. Ugh. How w... more

  • Gets to the heart of it all

These short, pithy episodes are packed with wisdom that gets to the heart of what most writers struggle with – how they think about writing. Kenower has an engaging voice and speaking style and the wisdom comes from years in the business working with a huge variety of successful writers.

Lots of writing podcasts speak to both the craft and business of the writer. How refreshing to have one that tackles our own relationship with it.

    Highly recommended.

Q: What kind of questions should a writer ask instead of asking readers or friends what they like about their work?
Focus on identifying and pursuing the story you personally want to tell, and only share when you feel you've fully told it and are satisfied with it, because public feedback tends to reflect the incomplete state of the work rather than its finished truth.
