Rhonda Douglas guides a writer through the oft times difficult journey of birthing a novel with grace, intelligence, and insight. She asks her guests questions in a way that produces illuminating answers and never interrupts them to interject her opinions. While I’ve never worked with her, she is on the top of my list of people I’d like to be coached by because not only is she really smart and knows so much about writing, but she’s also gentle and soothing.
This is excellent for writers.
Lots of information given on all aspects of writing and publishing, so it’s well worth a listen.
Just have a pen and paper handy for all the note taking you’ll do.
Rhonda is an engaging host for both solo and guest episodes.
It’s encouraging to hear how many writers have the same issues and thoughts about their work, especially when it’s such a lonely profession.
It’s a fab podcast. 💜
This is one of my go-to shows for writing. I have literally been motivated to get off my butt (or, really, on my butt) and get back to writing my story thanks to many of these episodes. I’ve also recommended it to several writer friends. Not too long, but always interesting and inspiring. Thank you, Rhonda, for putting together such a thoughtful show!
Rhonda gives realistic and inspiring writing advice. As I enter the long awaited revision phase, it’s so helpful to get clear on the difference between revision and editing. Thanks!
I really appreciate your podcast and it’s a great grounding moment in my week. I particularly enjoyed your episode on procrastinating. Thank you, Rhonda!

Writers-focused conversations explore craft, publishing, and the writing life through interviews with novelists, memoirists, editors, and industry professionals. Episodes frequently center on turning personal experience into fiction, navigating structure and pacing, historical accuracy, voice and point of view, and practical strategies for finishing and marketing books. A notable thread is the emphasis on sustainable writing habits, self-publishing paths, and using concrete techniques (outlining frameworks, structuring memoirs, or visual plotting) to help writers move from idea to finished manuscript.
A standout aspect is the guest mix: practitioners who blend rigorous craft with lived experience, often discussing resilience, accessibility... more
