One of my favorite things about Fear Coded is that they aren’t restrained to just horror movies, but any medium — so you’ll get episodes on TV, books, games, and really unexpected swings. But their choices always feel very intentional, and they do great work to give well-researched context for the media, find really specific themes to ground their conversations, and of course they really dig into the queer readings.
A lot of podcasts promise “queer readings” but this one genuinely and succinctly does that. I’ve been a horror fan my whole life and some of their analyses have me rethinking old favorites in ways I hadn’t before.
The three cohosts provide a unique synergy every episode as they tackle horror media from their perspectives. The energy is always spirited and it really feels like the three around a campfire discussing the topic at hand. A must listen!
