I have been listening to Fast Talk for several years. I have found it invaluable as a reliable source of information on training related science. However I was very disappointed in the episode on gut health and micro biomes. Although I have some knowledge of the topic, this episode was too science heavy. It was also too heavy on the use of probiotics at the expense of what might constitute a good diet for gut health. To cap it all the last few minutes were an open door for the guest of the show ... more
I love that they're having this discussion and I don't think that they're idiots, but the red flags in the first study are just insanely loud. The paper makes it clear that causality is not even close to proven, and even says retrospective in the title, but the discussion starts right off with the clickbait about this being applied prospectively, which is just confusing for people who don't know the difference between an experiment and a AI generated regression
Gosh I love listening to you guys. No matter how bad my day- sports is my temple and workouts are therapy. You raise all this to another beautiful level - thank you folks
Entertaining and very informative.
I feel i can trust what these people say - its not just the latest fad but information driven by science and years of experience.
The best endurance podcast by far (IMHO).
Has a scientific vibe about it but the hosts aren’t able to distinguish what makes something science. One of the hosts is a naturopath, who constantly refers to herself as a doctor, apparently allowed in the USA. I didn’t realise until I listened to them interview another naturopath also a ‘doctor’
