  • Good info, but she’s over valuing her information

I like listening to her podcasts, but have to say, $180 for recipes is ridiculous. Tell me of another cookbook that costs that much! She’s pricing herself way too high for this information. Think of how many sales you would have and how many people you could help if you priced it at 20 or 30 bucks - more inline with a cookbook. She’s not very business savvy. She thinks she’s Ely Lilly…

Vanessa made an episode about the fasting and completely misconstrued the facts.

  • 10 min intro too long

Takes forever to get to show!! Can’t always fast forward, adds and rambling for 10 min is too long.

  • Good science

Vanessa is smart and well studied making her recommendations backed by science. I do wish she would provide links to the studies mentioned (e.g., Lucy Burns study) in her recent episode

  • Clear and Informative

Vanessa has the best guests and information available for anyone following a keto or lower carb diet. She has such a talent for explaining studies in layman’s terms. I never write reviews but listening to her podcast Thai morning (PSMF) I just got so much out of it.

    Thanks, Vanessa 🙏🏻😎

PSMF Series: How Hormones Change Fat Loss, Muscle & Metabolism After 40 with Maria Emmerich
Q: Why is protein so important during menopause compared to earlier in life?
Protein is essential because aging can reduce digestion efficiency and muscle turnover; adequate protein supports muscle maintenance, tissue repair, and metabolic health, helping preserve lean mass and drive fat loss even as hormones shift.
The Science of Body Recomposition: How to Lose Fat & Build Muscle with Dr. Brad Schoenfeld
Q: What is the minimum effective dose of resistance training to improve strength and body composition for busy women?
For untrained individuals, even a small amount helps, but roughly four to six sets per muscle per week is the minimum to see appreciable gains, which can be achieved in a couple of short sessions.
How Fighters Reach 6–8% Body Fat with Dr. Corey Peacock
Q: What is the typical timeline and phase approach to cutting?
An eight to twelve week prep with gradual calorie and macro adjustments, protecting lean mass through high protein and resistance training, and making a final, controlled dehydration window in the last 12-24 hours.
How Fighters Reach 6–8% Body Fat with Dr. Corey Peacock
Q: How do you determine the ideal starting body fat for an MMA fighter?
We use body mass as the first metric and aim for a walk-around body fat around 10-12% for start of camp, aiming to finish closer to 6-8% with careful planning of hydration and weight cut timing.
The Truth About MMA Weight Cuts: Fat, Water & Performance: Dr. Anthony Ricci
Q: How should protein intake be adjusted during different phases of weight cutting?
Protein should be kept at least around 1 gram per pound of lean body mass during the camp, increasing if rapid weight loss is required to protect lean tissue; a gram and a quarter to a gram and a half per pound of lean mass may be used during very rapid cuts.
