  • Some good info but…

I have been with the podcast since episode 1, and there’s good information shared. My little irk is that every single episode they talk about the weather and how cold it is (in the South!) and how much they hate the cold. After all of these episodes, I think we know this already and have heard about it ad nauseum. Please stop about the weather already. And Gin’s marriage/divorce/love life is not something I care to hear about. Share that with your paid community. Please stick with the reason w... more

  • Gin and Sheri are my homegirls!!

I have been listening to these ladies, share the community, successes, challenges, questions, and Their own personal stories and struggles every week for two years. I feel like I know them and I’m getting really good at answering the questions that listeners submit in my head before Gin and Sherri answer. 🥰🥳

My two year fasting journey and health journey has been largely supported by these ladies, And Gins books. I am so grateful for all that they do and always look forward to the release of a... more

  • Ridiculous

This used to be one of my favorite podcast but now you have to listen repeatedly about Gins books all throughout the podcast. Not to mention it’s the same questions answered in the same way show after show after show.

  • Binge this show, not your food

Love the positive vibe and helpful information. Gin’s books are great and useful on their own, but sharing this running dialogue is like getting encouragement from friends as you talk through everyday challenges and wins with IF. Great job Gin & Sheri, thanks!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 146: IF Post-Partum, Losing Too Quickly, Sleep Issues, and More
Q: Is it safe or recommended to lose weight quickly postpartum if not breastfeeding?
The hosts suggest that rapid weight loss immediately postpartum is unlikely to be fat loss and could reflect fluid or inflammation changes; they recommend weighing daily, tracking weekly trends, and avoiding over-restriction, with a slower, steady approach and attention to how the body is actually changing.
Episode 145: Switching Things Up, Metabolic Flexibility, Over-Restricting, and More
Q: Patty from Michigan asks about calibrating daily calories for a near-maintenance 68-year-old woman; how high or low should calories be when weight is steady?
They explain there is no universal calorie target; maintain with a lifestyle that feels good, avoid over-restriction, and rely on body signals, energy, sleep, and progression of body composition rather than a fixed number.
Episode 145: Switching Things Up, Metabolic Flexibility, Over-Restricting, and More
Q: Lynn in Australia is concerned about being underweight and pre-diabetic while practicing IF; what should she monitor and adjust?
They advise not fasting when underweight, consider glucose monitoring and doctor guidance, and suggest increasing protein and healthy fats while ensuring muscle mass through resistance training to improve insulin sensitivity.
Episode 145: Switching Things Up, Metabolic Flexibility, Over-Restricting, and More
Q: Donna in Lexington asks how to fit a busy training schedule with a no-nonsense fasting window when workouts at noon conflict with fasting.
The hosts propose tightening windows around training days, possibly moving workouts, and ensuring energy and ketone switch occurs by refining fasting lengths rather than simply extending or shrinking windows without regard to training needs.
Episode 142: Fasting For Health, Eating Disorders and IF, Fasting Clean, and More
Q: How is intermittent fasting not a diet for someone with a history of anorexia?
They emphasize that IF is not inherently a diet; the approach should focus on total body health, therapy, and determining whether fasting is appropriate given current weight and mental health status, especially in the context of eating disorder history.
