  • Enjoy each episode

I don’t even intermittent fast and I enjoy listening to this podcast very much. It’s nice to hear the personal life of each gal also. However, the liberty mutual commercials are just so horrible. I don’t know if I can go on listening! And there are multiple per episode. Oh no.

  • Some good info but…

I have been with the podcast since episode 1, and there’s good information shared. My little irk is that every single episode they talk about the weather and how cold it is (in the South!) and how much they hate the cold. After all of these episodes, I think we know this already and have heard about it ad nauseum. Please stop about the weather already. And Gin’s marriage/divorce/love life is not something I care to hear about. Share that with your paid community. Please stick with the reason w... more

  • Gin and Sheri are my homegirls!!

I have been listening to these ladies, share the community, successes, challenges, questions, and Their own personal stories and struggles every week for two years. I feel like I know them and I’m getting really good at answering the questions that listeners submit in my head before Gin and Sherri answer. 🥰🥳

My two year fasting journey and health journey has been largely supported by these ladies, And Gins books. I am so grateful for all that they do and always look forward to the release of a... more

  • Ridiculous

This used to be one of my favorite podcast but now you have to listen repeatedly about Gins books all throughout the podcast. Not to mention it’s the same questions answered in the same way show after show after show.

  • Binge this show, not your food

Love the positive vibe and helpful information. Gin’s books are great and useful on their own, but sharing this running dialogue is like getting encouragement from friends as you talk through everyday challenges and wins with IF. Great job Gin & Sheri, thanks!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 151: Marathon and Endurance Training, Desserts and Weight Loss, Fasted Hunger, and More
Q: Is it okay to fast after working out until a convenient time to eat?
Yes, in many cases it is fine as long as protein intake and recovery are managed; newer research suggests delaying meals is not inherently detrimental.
Episode 151: Marathon and Endurance Training, Desserts and Weight Loss, Fasted Hunger, and More
Q: Am I doing myself a disservice by weight training at 6 a.m. but not getting around to eating until around 5 p.m.?
It depends on body fat reserves, fueling status, and recovery needs; the recommendation is to ensure adequate fueling within the window, consider extending the window if needed, and monitor recovery and mood to adjust.
Episode 150: Eating Window Variability, Balance vs. Over-restriction, and More
Q: Would a one-hour eating window during the week be detrimental to weight loss if weekends have a four to five hour window?
The hosts explain that it depends on the individual body; one hour might slow some people down if it leads to extreme hunger or overeating later, but for others a short window can work. They advocate listening to hunger cues, considering overall weekly patterns, and potentially widening the window on some days to maintain satiety and energy balance.
Episode 149: Fat Cells and Estrogen, Redefining One Meal a Day, and More
Q: I have read both of your books and I'm curious about the One Meal a Day concept. How should I think about it within a five-hour window without feeling overly restricted?
Think of the daily five-hour window as a multi-course meal rather than a single plate; it should be flexible with occasional shorter or longer days, and you can mix in down days when you're not hungry, followed by up days to keep metabolism engaged.
Episode 148: Food Addiction, Fasting on Vacation, Eating During Pregnancy, and More
Q: When should I stop fasting if I'm trying to conceive, and how does this apply if I have PCOS or irregular periods?
If trying to conceive, consult a health care provider for personalized guidance, but generally, PCOS may benefit from fasting by lowering insulin, while under-eating and over-fasting can disrupt hormones and ovulation; in many cases, a daily eating window may be recommended, and stopping fasting during pregnancy is common advice.
