  • Best health podcast of them all!

I've told so many people to listen to this podcast and told them that it was by far the best intermittent fasting information you could get anywhere while also being entertaining and fun to be part of and listen to. Now I have altered that to say that it is the best health podcast out there. Gin and Sheri have a wonderful wealth of knowledge and they share it in a way that makes us all feel welcome and able to understand. They are genuinely the best and best informed friends you could ever ask f... more

  • But First, FFR!

Before any of my other podcasts, I check to see if a new episode of FFR has come out. This podcast keeps me growing and learning on my fasting journey thanks to Gin, Sheri, and every guest they have on. I can’t get enough! So much fun with these ladies💜

  • Enjoy each episode

I don’t even intermittent fast and I enjoy listening to this podcast very much. It’s nice to hear the personal life of each gal also. However, the liberty mutual commercials are just so horrible. I don’t know if I can go on listening! And there are multiple per episode. Oh no.

  • Some good info but…

I have been with the podcast since episode 1, and there’s good information shared. My little irk is that every single episode they talk about the weather and how cold it is (in the South!) and how much they hate the cold. After all of these episodes, I think we know this already and have heard about it ad nauseum. Please stop about the weather already. And Gin’s marriage/divorce/love life is not something I care to hear about. Share that with your paid community. Please stick with the reason w... more

  • Gin and Sheri are my homegirls!!

I have been listening to these ladies, share the community, successes, challenges, questions, and Their own personal stories and struggles every week for two years. I feel like I know them and I’m getting really good at answering the questions that listeners submit in my head before Gin and Sherri answer. 🥰🥳

My two year fasting journey and health journey has been largely supported by these ladies, And Gins books. I am so grateful for all that they do and always look forward to the release of a... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 162: Goal Clothing, Making Sure You’re Eating Enough, Black Coffee and GERD, and More
Q: Can the smell of donuts cause an insulin response during fasting?
Yes, smells can trigger a insulin response in some people, and if it leads to feeling unwell, it may be wise to move away from the odor or adjust proximity; otherwise it may not be a universal trigger.
Episode 160: What the Urge to Binge Can Tell Us, Giving Yourself Time to See Changes Before Switching Things Up, and More
Q: What works best for maintaining progress when life gets busy and windows get shorter?
Open the eating window to around five hours, match intake to activity, and prioritize satiety with nutrient-dense foods, while monitoring weekly weight trends rather than daily numbers.
Episode 158: When to Take Vitamins and Fiber, Weight Loss Speed Expectations, Over Fasting, and More
Q: For someone starting ADF after years of fasting, what should they watch for beyond weight loss?
Be mindful of the learning curve with up days and the potential for over-restriction on down days. The goal is to nourish your body, not starve it; prioritize balanced meals, slow progression, and listening to satiety signals to prevent binges or withdrawals.
Episode 158: When to Take Vitamins and Fiber, Weight Loss Speed Expectations, Over Fasting, and More
Q: Hi Gin and Sheri. I appreciate all you do. What would you suggest to someone who is very ambitious right now and wants to maximize fat loss while doing ADF and exercising?
There isn't a magic shortcut; slow and steady is best. Target a fat-loss rate of about 0.5 to 1 pound per week, focus on whole foods, manage your window sensibly, and avoid extreme down/up day dieting that can backfire. If needed, adjust by ensuring you are fueling adequately on up days and maintaining a sustainable eating pattern rather than crash dieting.
Episode 156: Weight Loss Speed, Fasting Through Stressful Times, and More
Q: How should Emily manage consistency when goals shift and schedules are irregular?
Concentrate on consistent eating windows, use the 7-day average to monitor trend, and lean into a gradual, steady approach rather than rapid changes.
