  • Pro Interviewer Digs Deep to the Core of Music

My interview with Neon Jazz host Joe Dimino was a true pleasure because Joe was a consummate professional from his initial contact setting up the interview to the relaxed but thorough conversation of the event itself. Joe does his research on his interviewees and comes prepared with great questions that cover both the big picture of the jazz scene in today’s society and the personal story of the musician. He also *listens* to his guest and lets them finish their thoughts before moving on or ty... more

  • Great conversation

What a great conversation! It was fun to see how genres intersect and talk about the various influences on music that now seems timeless. I really enjoyed discussing how modern audiences are somehow almost inherently seeking something more raw and unpolished as is the music from a time before things became so “cookie cutter” and predictable.

LehCats Interview – Karen & Norbert Stachel on Live at the Breakroom (2026)
Q: So let me ask you this. It's a live album that you just put out. What was the idea behind releasing a live record now?
The collaboration came from a couple of Bay Area gigs that were multitracked and filmed; it felt natural to capture the moment and present it in a way that represents the chemistry and balance on stage, even if the recording wasn't perfectly balanced. It was about sharing the live energy and the moments that make a performance special.
