Failed Critics is home to the slightly shambolic weekly film podcast, where each week we review new theatrical releases, as well as revisit classics (and not-so-classics), trawl through film news, and even chat with the odd special guest.

Like buses, you wait for three years and then two come along at once, overcharge you, and make you late for work. Or something. Released at almost the exact same time as the previous episode, because why wait? This time, it's just Steve and Owen talk... more
Surprise! We're back, sort of, for a couple of episodes at the very least. We do sure hope nothing's changed since we last stepped onto this feed in 2019. Steve is putting the memory foam back in his hosting chair seat, Owen is being as pretentious a... more
A quick announcement from Failed Critics' new publisher and editor Tony Black discussing the return of Failed Critics and where to now find the podcast, plus a sneak peek at our first episode back with Tony, regular host Steve Norman, and guest Matt ... more
Hosts Steve Norman and Owen Hughes had a day off work and decided to kill time by doing an impromptu podcast on stuff they've seen in 2019. It also means we edge one step closer to the magic episode 300 mark - just nine more to go. But, seeing as the... more
We're back! Sort of. Host Steve Norman is back, at least, for another Star Wars special episode with regulars Paul Field and Dave Valentine booting misery guts Owen Hughes from the podcast. There's quizzing, japes, and of course more Solo: A Star War... more
Happy birthday to you guys! Yes, it's your birthday everyone. Or, rather, the Failed Critics Podcast turned six this week, which means happy birthday to us and all of our listeners who witnessed this Frankenstein's monster of a podcast come to life. more
We're back for a bit. No biggie. Just Steve Norman, Owen Hughes and Paul Field, hanging around recording a random triple bill podcast trying to ride the crest of interest that usually comes during the Oscars season.
Resurrected from the near dead, t... more
Happy New Year and all that jazz. We're back from our end of year celebrations (sort of) as hosts Steve Norman and Owen Hughes head to a pub in Oxford to chat movies and TV with Character Unlock's Andrew Brooker.

These are all genuinely funny guys who love to talk movies! Exactly what I was looking for. I really love the diversity of the films that get discussed! Long may it continue!!
Articulate, informative and honest film based review podcast which nicely mixes critical discussion and comedy.
Been tuning in to these guys for a while now and I love the conversational tone. Witty and informative, Failed Critics is an entertaining show that often has me in stitches. Definitely worth checking out.
Successful.
Like spending time with a bunch of mates shooting the breeze over a few pints about the films they saw that weekend.
Well recommended, more than worth your time.
Love these guys! Funny, informative and easy listening. For all film lovers and enthusiasts.
Constant belly laughs. Brilliant.
A perfect blend of humour and critique. In regards to the comment above about audio issues, they're all sorted now, haven't had a problem with it in many weeks.
This podcast really fits the bill for Movie lovers looking for fun and informative film discussion. It is refreshing to find such a likeable bunch that are clearly passionate about film.
Highly recommended .
I havent listened to more than 5 minutes yet but im immediately concerned about the audio quality, its going to be difficult to listen to, maybe consider investing at least 50 pounds each on a blue snowball usb microphone each. But im looking forward to listening, ill give 5* for now just to help you out.
A bunch of blokes musing about their favourite and least favourite films. Not pretentious but earnest discussion of cinema. Their range of films is very wide and varied. So many unexpected recomendations it can be overwhelming. I appreciate the little break before the spoilers. I would love to sit down and talk film over a coffee with these guys.
Am able to listen to episode after episode, each reviewer is enjoyable and funny with an educated insight into the media, highly recommended and hope they keep up the good work.
Have recently started listening to the show and I have to say it is brilliant. The guys have the perfect balance of serious reviews and light hearted comedy and it comes across really well. Looking forward to 2013 and the show very much.
It's funny, it's smart and its accurate and most of all they're not even making money from this. Get involved. Failed Critics is the movie-pod for the everyman cinema lover
With Kermode spending his time lauding rubbish teeny vamp trash, having love-ins with celebrity "friends" and groaning about 3D in a tedious loop, I really needed a decent film podcast. This fits the bill. Reasonably smart without being smartass. Worth a listen.
