Here you will find the school's principal (Kevin McCormack) and its Instructional Technology leader (Patrick Fogarty) discuss the perils and triumphs inherent in being one of New York's only iPad 1:1 school.

As a (former) teacher in support role for a school that went with a single cart of iPads to serve all 400-ish students, I found Patrick and Kevin’s podcasts very informative. Each episode had more than enough tips to keep me going to the very end, and the rapport between the two co-hosts has kept me coming back to each episode a number of times. I only wish the series didn’t end with 13 episodes; I’d like to hear the further adventures of EdTech@XavarianHS.
Thanks for sharing, guys.
I've listened to all of these podcasts and it has been an interesting and thought-provoking ride. The hosts are engaging and use accessible language in explaining technology and its growing presence in the field of education. I highly recommend these podcasts to anyone interested in this area.
I've listened to all the episodes so far, and you guys have made great progress. The shorter, more structured format is key to my appreciation of the podcast... One suggestion would be to try to stay away from lesser-known techie acronyms, or just explain them before usage.
The cohost "bromance" works well to keep listeners entertained, but I actually find the segments where Dcn. Mac and Patrick Fogarty disagree to be most interesting.
One question I'd like answered in an upcoming episode: why ... more
Folks, the 21st Century is sitting in the desks in front of us and they come with the world in their pockets and backpack. We, as teachers, must take advantage of the technology our students carry. Flipping the classroom is a challenge and can make the most veteran teacher’s knees buckle. The strategies that Mr. Fogarty and Deacon McCormack discuss really do work! For example, Box and Evernote are a life saver for any teacher who has left their flash drive at home.
I really enjoy listening to your podcast. Kudos to Mr. Fogarty on becoming an apple certified educator, what a great accomplishment. As a student of the Genesis/Xaverian family I applaud your Podcast on being both informative and entertaining.
Education and technology presented in a fun and engaging style - great stuff
Interesting content, It had me thinking aloud and talking to my laptop. How will this and future technologies change learning as we know it?
As great as technology is we can't forget the power of the human brain and how it needs to be fed in order to grow. Technology should be a supplement not a replacement.
I hope Siri doesn't decide to be a teacher.
