I’ve been listening to Jay’s podcasts for years now, as well as buying his zines. He gets bored with the format and changes it up fairly often, but he’s got great taste in music and I’ve learned a lot from him. Thank goodness punks don’t get old, just crankier.
Always awesome, always energetic, always a trip. Mega informative too! Lights up any day or night. Get into the now of today and yesterday subterranean sounds with Jay!
More palatable in a single sesh than Maximum Rock and Roll tho.

Just wish they would play pup and direct hit!!!
SIIIIIIIIIKE!!
Keep up the tolerable work!
Love this 'podcast', it's like the radio show I wish existed here in the UK. Dozens of bands and songs completely new to me, some amazing, some terrible, but all trying to do something interesting. I just wish more were available on CD or record, rather than tape!
Keep up the great work 'Jay and the gang'!
great stuff, wish there were more underground rock podcasts. thank you.

A sharp-edged music show that shines a spotlight on sub-underground DIY scenes, spanning psych, solo guitar, abstract pop, folk, and heavy, alternative textures. Episodes curate deep cuts from both new and obscure artists, often pairing archival favorites with contemporary finds, and weave in personal anecdotes about discovery, scene history, and local music culture. A standout trait is the host's hands-on storytelling and a radio-like flow that mixes artist context with listener engagement, plus occasional trivia and requests that keep the listening experience interactive and feels-like-a-rare-genre-dive rather than a standard playlist. This program is probably most engaging for listeners who crave eclectic, underground sounds and a strong... more
