I quite enjoyed the first episode! Would have liked a content warning for the end of the episode though
Good story, just not the content I wanted to listen to in a podcast. Not into other people's drama, especially when it's about emotions and social issues.
Truly distinct voice actors, with Chelsea and Gerald especially standing out. I was pretty bummed at the ending of season 1, I'm glad I stuck with it and made it to the resolution in season 2!
Season 1 was close to a masterpiece, deftly tackling minefield topics like rape and mental illness with complex and authentic characters and a wry sense of humor. In particular, the protagonist, Elaine, is well realized and captures all the things I simultaneously hate and admire about young adults coming into their own. Season 2 was not as successful, as formerly nuanced characters got flattened out, an omnipowerful multitool of a character was brought into shortcut through logistical obstacles... more
