“Spencer Hess and Laurie Johnson discuss the intersection of environment, economics, politics and faith, and invite people of various backgrounds to weigh in.”
Much needed Catholic perspective on the many crises facing the modern world. Laurie and Spencer draw from a wide range of sources and try to go beyond the false dichotomies constructed by modernity. Most importantly, they put their thought into action and draw from real world experience: Laurie has a background teaching political philosophy, and Spencer runs a Catholic Worker farm. Always appreciate listening to them engage with guests from various backgrounds.
A great look into modern U.S. politics. I come from less of a Christian or an anarchist outlook, but tbh I’m at the point in my life where I can go any way that will lead the American working class or humanity in general out the modern milieu of liberalism hustle culture in the face of climate disaster. Thanks for the great insights from this pod. Looking forward to more episodes.
