They frown on evangelization and can’t really talk about theology or the Bible. Marxism though, they are really passionate about Marxism. They are very dismissive of the strong currents of atheism and opposition to Christianity within the Marxist tradition. I really wish there was a good podcast about leftist politics and Christianity, but I’m still looking for one.
The magnificast doesn’t a great job of working through the complexities of trying to marry Christianity and leftist (Marxismy) politics. Rich interviews, real life struggles, material implications of the faithful, Etc. They can be a bit of an acquired taste, have a tendency to trip over their propositions, back tract, deconstruct, repeat, idk, it depends, etc. ($ on a speech coach would be well spent) So as a listener it can feel like oneself step forward and two backwards, but it’s a big step f... more
I started listening to this podcast two years ago, when I wanted a socialist Christian approach to the world. I've learned so much, and the hosts are great at breaking things down into understandable chunks. Grateful for their voice of hope in a sea of fear.
