  • Another great season…

of hockey. Another great season of Dropping the Gloves. I’ve test driven a bunch of hockey podcasts and this is the only one that sticks. The dynamic between John and Tim is something special. Can’t wait for next season!

  • Long time listener

I really enjoy this podcast and have been a loyal listener for years but John’s post nasal drip is out of control. Press the mute button when you have the sniffles. Other than that, keep up the great work!

  • Great Show

I enjoy your show very much, keep on keeping on!

but its tough listening to you gasp for air. Methinks you guys are compressing the podcast too much. Other fix would be to run it through a gate to mute out the air gasps.

  • I enjoy this show, but I have one gripe!

I really enjoy this podcast, I like the comments from both John and Tim. They are lest seen from different angles and explained and critiqued well. The bold comments and predictions are great, too. I also like Tim and Johns relationship haha.

My gripe is the inconsistency of shows being released. It says on the cover photo every mon, wed and fri but very often I come on to find there isn’t a podcast released. I also hate it when it’s the end of the pod and John says ‘we might do a pod Wednesda... more

  • COPD or Darth Vader?

When did John start *gasp for air* audibly sucking in wind *gasp for air* every fourth or fifth *gasp for wind* word on the podcast? Maybe get a new mic or an inhaler.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

NHL Playoff Preview w/ Milan Lucic
Q: Milan, how are you feeling about this playoff preview and the Sabres-Bruins matchup?
I'm excited, and I think Buffalo has a real chance if they stay disciplined, get timely goaltending, and lean into their depth when needed.
Interview w/ Wayne Primeau
Q: What was it like facing the perception that you rode your brother Keith's name into the league, and how did you carve your own path?
There was ribbing early on, but I focused on developing my own identity as a player, working to improve and earn trust from coaches, which helped me establish my own career separate from my brother.
Interview w/ Wayne Primeau
Q: You were traded from Buffalo to Tampa, then to Pittsburgh, San Jose, Boston, Calgary, and Toronto—what was that like as a first-round pick who kept moving?
It was a mix of adapting to new environments and seizing opportunities; the trades forced me to prove myself repeatedly, but they also exposed me to different systems, teammates, and cities which shaped my resilience and understanding of the game.
Interview w/ Behn Wilson
Q: How did your first fight with Tiger Williams set the tone for your career?
Tiger Williams was a defining challenge; the sucker punch he landed showed me the brutal reality of the league and shaped my approach to fights and rivalries.
Interview w/ Behn Wilson
Q: What was it like to play under Pat Quinn when you were establishing yourself in Philadelphia?
Pat Quinn was my favorite coach, incredibly supportive and demanding in a way that brought out my best on the ice.
