Sometimes it is great, but you have to listen to a lot of complaining and psychobabble too.
Man this episode really hit home and resonated with me. I’ve had a very similar experience with my family. I wish you guys had an academy close to Katy Texas outside of Houston. The values you guys express that are bigger than baseball is hard to find in youth sports today. Great podcast.
Recent episode with Travis Snider and Seth Taylor was awesome! As a baseball dad, your insightful interactions with these types of guests are like so beneficial and actually therapeutic.
If you care for your kids development this is the best place to get it. The guys are super educated and have skin in the game.
One minor critique: the audio is out of balance, I have to adjust the volume between the hosts.
The information, perspective, and most importantly the heart behind this podcast makes it a must listen for anyone who cares about youth baseball. Coaches and parents will learn a ton about the game, but also be reminded that at the core of youth baseball are the kids that we love and no matter where this game takes them (or doesn’t take them) love those kids first.

This show centers on youth baseball through a data-driven, long-term development lens. Episodes prioritize holistic athletic development, safe workloads, and the balance between competitive play and enjoyment for young players. Topics frequently cover structured practice design for ages 7–12, universal pitch counts, ball flight analytics, multi-sport participation, and the impact of parental and coaching approaches on kid-first development. A notable strength is its unapologetic focus on long-term player health and development over short-term wins, plus a willingness to critique traditional travel-ball culture and celebrate innovative programs. The show often blends personal coaching experiences with industry-wide initiatives, offering prac... more
