A lot of time and love goes into this podcast, it’s a great way to discover and learn more about the many novel adventures of the eighth Doctor. The hosts are great, with excellent interviews and narrations too.
I’m really enjoying listening to the excellent, informative interviews with the writers (and editors and other creative people) who were behind the BBC books in the 90s and 2000s.
I only read a handful of the books at the time (too expensive!) but that’s not a problem.
If like me you loved the EDAs back when they were published but hadn’t given them too much thought in the intervening couple of decades this is a brilliant way to reconnect with them. Kenny and Matt are unfailingly enthusiastic and entertaining and the interviews they’ve managed to bag are fascinating. I’m going to give the whole EDA series a re-read on the back of these.
I’ve binged all the EDA versions of Pieces of 8 over the past 7 weeks. Superb- I love the interviews and the extracts- taps into the excitement I felt when reading them the first time. These books are my teenage years of Doctor who and I’m loving rediscovering them. My bank balance less so! Keep them coming!
Absolutely loving the look back at the EDA books. Often overshadowed by the Virgin New adventures, this series of novels were my “era” of Doctor Who. Kenny and Matt are excellent presenters and I’m impressed by the care and attention that is given to each novel. It’s made me want to go back and re-read them all again
