Is far from their best studio album and definitely not their best album in general.
Everyday, Mom’s Kitchen, Ain’t Life Grand and Space Wrangler are superior from a studio performance.
Then Light Fuse Getaway is the best live album in the history of music.
Love REM, coincidentally I’ve been going through a re-discovery of them..been a fan since the mid-80’s.
I do; however, take exception to how Stipe pronounces the word Cuyahoga…Stipe pronounces Koy-ah-ho-ga
Since I grew up near that River in Northern Ohio…the correct pronunciation is Ki-ah-hog-ah..that is way the Woodland Eire Indians pronounced it…btw it means crooked River.
BTW Randy Newman also mispronounces it too…

Chris, I agree with you. I’m a huge Stones fan. Emotional Rescue gets dissed because it was the much anticipated release following Some Girls. Mick was also going through his divorce from Bianca while recording it. It really is a good album, if you listen to it on its own. Unfortunately it took me years to realize that…when it was released I was among the disappointed, not anymore though.
