Good Stuff
Victor (primary host) provides some occasionally interesting insight into the funeral business, but the level of truly deep analysis of SFU itself is usually lacking. The reviews of the earlier seasons are a little better, as there is a rotating cast of guests/co-hosts who are sometimes able to provide some decent analysis of their own. However, by the time the format changes to include a permanent co-host (for the final few seasons), the already average podcast drops in quality precipitousl... more
This pod started so well - I loved the recapping of eps but with the spin of focus on the funeral home operations & service. The early casts were terrific, with great input from host victor (a licensed funeral director). However, as the S1 casts went on, the host started bringing on ‘special guests’ who progressively had less and less to do with funeral care and were simply woke mouthpieces, seemingly flogging a book or alternative cast. The final straw was the ep with the Huffpost writer. Nope,... more
I have just listened to all of season one of this podcast. Victor, the host, brings an interesting point of view to the show working in the funeral industry. I like learning how things work in the real world. His audio is also very good and his voice is pleasant.
Season one, episode 12 was a difficult listen as I felt that Victor was intimidated by his guest. The episode had very dark themes and Victor laughed inappropriately many times throughout the podcast. It was cringeworthy. The guest wa... more
I love observational discussion, fellow New Yorkers, and most of all, SFU but I cannot finish one of these episodes without becoming bored. SFU is such an interesting show but these commentaries are not insightful, even though they obviously love the show and work hard to produce a smooth cast. If you want depth, this one may not be for you.
Awesome podcast for one of the most underrated great shows of our time. Highly informative and well-structured. Recommended for all SFU fans!
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! I love your podcast and eagerly look forward to new episodes. Thank you for your hard work!
What a great way to process these shows!
It's awesome to have the professional funeral director perspective on this show. Victor is charismatic and chemistry with guests is great! Definitely give this show a listen!
Victor delivers Six Feet Under through a unique and entertaining perspective that only someone in the funeral career field could have. The analysis of the characters is in depth and well thought out. Kudos on such a great podcast.
Whether you're watching it for the first or 6th time this is a must listen for any six feet under fan or anyone who enjoys good television, and who better to take us in this journey other than an actual funeral director. You can tell Victor truly loves this show and Ive learned a couple things i didn't know about the death care industry.
I love the way he presents the podcast. Clear stays on pointtalks about the show by episode. A real treat if your in to the show or thinking of starting
Really impressive! Well organized, full of interesting information, gives thought-provoking analysis from the perspective of a real funeral director! If you love SFU, or are just checking it out, this is a great companion!
