  • Great guests, thoughtful questions

I love that Dave asks questions we are all wondering, and then lets the guest fully answer. Fascinating stuff!

  • Do not have Danielle host again

After listening to this podcast for the first time, I’m not quite sure I will come back. I listened to the email nurture/roast episode that Danielle hosted. Someone needs have her listen to that episode and focus to how she speaks and her limited, juvenile vocabulary and voice. I felt like I was listening to a 14-year-old Valley girl which made me question the validity and credibility of what was said and presented, with the exception of the guests who were clearly subject matter experts. • Does not add value

He gets good guests, but he’s still learning the absolute basics. Makes you wonder how he’s qualified to be a CMO. Seems like the CEOs he’s worked for do all the work, a la Drift, and he spends his time babbling about being great at “brand.” It’s baffling how many people listen to this.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Inside Ramp's Marketing: Creative Bets, Measurement, and AI Agents (with Drew Pinta)
Q: What does channel maturity look like in Ramp's framework?
Ramp evaluates channels through a staged funnel: starting with fundamentals like solid optimization events and baseline reporting, then moving to in-platform tests, and finally to true incrementality tests; only after passing these gates does a channel graduate to core status and be scaled.
Inside Ramp's Marketing: Creative Bets, Measurement, and AI Agents (with Drew Pinta)
Q: Can you tell me about that park stunt and what it revealed about attribution?
The park stunt involving filing paper expenses with a glass box in New York was a large-scale test of real-world awareness; they used an event study approach to measure attention and then cross-checked with transcripts and subsequent sales signals to understand what actually moved the needle, underscoring that dramatic creative can still be a valuable signal when evaluated with the right, multi-faceted measurement.
How ClickUp Built a B2B Social Machine with Chris Cunningham from ClickUp
Q: What's the core formula for producing content at ClickUp?
Run a weekly writer's room, storyboard with three ideas per person, vote on concepts, fine-tune scripts, shoot on Thursdays, and analyze weekly results to maintain a flywheel that scales impressions and engagement.
How ClickUp Built a B2B Social Machine with Chris Cunningham from ClickUp
Q: How do you articulate the value of B2B social to a skeptical team?
Lead with the idea that social is a signal and a habit that builds familiarity and trust with buyers, not just a distribution channel; combine humor and teaching to stay memorable while also driving impact.
How to Create a Category When You're Already the Market Leader (with Melton Littlepage, CMO at 1Password)
Q: What role do sports sponsorships play in targeting enterprise buyers?
Sports sponsorships extend reach to both B2B and B2C buyers, enabling brand placement among executives and consumers alike, which helps justify the investment by saturating the market leader position and driving top-of-funnel awareness even when not every viewer is a direct buyer.
