Now that Radio Four seems to consist mainly of people whining about how oppressed they are, it is wonderful to have these programmes from an era when you had to be a bit interesting, or even to achieved something before being allowed on the radio.

  • Unmissable

I grew up with Desert Island Discs on Sundays.....It is an Institution. Hearing what people would take on a desert island with them can be an extraordinary insight into what drives them & their memories. Also you might discover new things to listen to along the way. I can't wait to listen to John Lee Hooker & Jennifer Saunders....
