Maya sits down with her buddy Matt Hartman, who does not like dark or upsetting things, to discuss The Running Man, one of Stephen King's most dark and upsetting novels. Listen to learn all about the origin of King's alter ego Richard Bachman, the di... more
You've probably noticed that there's kind of a lot of Stephen King movies happening right now... but this is the one you should actually watch. Join Maya, her husband, and special guest The Wolfman as they discuss The Flanopticon (that's what we call... more
It's unclear whose idea it was to read this particular book, but Maya and her pals Ana (a writer, and also a Stephen King first-timer!) and Duncan (a normally reasonable person who unforgivably quit The Dark Tower halfway through) read it, and now yo... more
Buzzfeed's Louis Peitzman recently decided to watch EVERY single Stephen King adaptation and rank them all in order of worst to best. He patiently explains his strategy and defends his decisions to Maya, who has a lot of questions and, predictably, s... more
I’m so mad.
I listened for the very first time having just finished Night Shift. I played the Night Shift episode, and without warning the hosts just completely spoiled what happens in Pet Semetery, totally ruining the experience of reading that for the first time.
Don’t listen to this unless you have read every single word of every single Stephen King book, unless you want them ruined for you without any warning too.
Is the guy hosting this having a laugh ? Or has he got a bet on to be the fastest talking host on a podcast ? No wonder they stopped making them. Can barely understand a word he is saying 🤷♂️. Ridiculous
The host is selective in the works she reads. She often doesn’t remember the characters names or plot points in the books she’s reviewing. Talks about working for podcast company but the show isn’t well produced. Other shows with more substance.
Really enjoying this podcast!! My first book was Carrie which I read in high school (c/o 95) and I loved it. Loved the IT 🎈mini-series, Christine 🚘 is the car of my dreams…I’d notice things here & there and be like “oh, hang on…” it’s fun to notice the links or “Easter Eggs” to other stories in the books & films. I even named my son Gage, so…😂
This is such a good podcast omg. She NEEDS to make more!!! I love them so much! I couldn’t stop listening and I’m now obsessed with Steven King.
