Delete Your Account is a new podcast hosted by journalist Roqayah Chamseddine and her plucky sidekick Kumars Salehi. Every week they will talk about important stories from the worlds of politics and pop culture, both on and off-line, in a way that will never bore you. They're radical leftists, but not that kind. The other kind. The fun kind.

As Dean Spade reminds us: make sure you have friends more radical than you. Love this podcast and am grateful for all y’all’s labor and knowledge sharing.

  • Clear and deeply insightful, restores faith in humanity

I can’t rate this podcast highly enough. Such a range of expertise, and refreshingly deep analysis, all delivered in a way that won’t bore you to death, or depress you into acquiescence. Of particular note — somehow it feels like there is enough time given to really get into the weeds of issues, but it still feels spirited and accessible. I love this show, and I have so much respect and admiration for Roqayah and Kumars, and all their expert guests. Thank you for all you do 🙏🏻

  • One of the first podcasts I started listening to around 2014. Many have fallen by the wayside since then; this is not one of them.

Roqayah and Kumars have a wonderful chemistry and provide your ears with a balanced diet of snark, passion, and well-researched political commentary.

I would consider this show to be normie-adjacent (well, maybe normie-adjacent-adjacent) so it is a good one for converting your friends into a farther left version of themselves. Very solid podcast!

Episode 260 – War Diary
Q: What are Iranians saying about the Hormuz Strait closure and the resulting shift in the global order?
Navid notes that many Iranians are impressed and proud of the effective retaliation, with hopes that Hormuz tolls and strategic control can be maintained, while recognizing that media narratives outside Iran can exaggerate successes.
Episode 260 – War Diary
Q: What does Quds Day mean to you personally as an Iranian particularly this year?
Navid describes Quds Day as a meaningful act of solidarity with Palestine, especially given intensified repression at home and abroad, and frames it as both a personal recommitment and a political statement against the current geopolitical order.
Episode 259 – A Hero
Q: How do regional leadership changes in Lebanon and Iran influence the resistance movement?
The guest argues that leadership in Iran—especially Ayatollah Khamenei—provides spiritual and strategic motivation for resistance, while in Lebanon Nawaf Salam's government is criticized for failing to support civilians and for political calculations that empower the resistance.
Episode 259 – A Hero
Q: What is the current humanitarian situation in Dahya and how does it differ from past crises?
The guest describes Dahya as facing ethnic cleansing through displacement, with residents being pushed out under the veneer of evacuation, highlighting a strategic, punitive approach by occupying forces that intensifies civilian suffering.
Episode 254.5 – America's Mayor (free preview)
Q: How do you feel about your new mayor?
Kumars reflects that America's mayor is not his mayor and discusses New York City's past mayors and how their politics resonate in a larger narrative.
