You may know Cécilia Jourdan from her wildly popular social media account Hello French which has close to 1.6 million followers on Instagram, and I wasn’t kidding when I said at the beginning of our podcast chat that I was very excited to finally mee... more
Tahini has gotten a lot of press in the last few years, and the delicious sesame paste has become a staple in many of our pantries. Many cultures have embraced the borderless sesame seed in some form or another, including Japanese gomashio and furika... more
It may sound cliché, but I suspect for most of you, Dorie Greenspan needs no introduction. Dorie is an accomplished baker, whose books range from an oversize volume of never-fail cookie recipes, Dorie’s Cookies, to translating the recipes of master P... more
Living in France, it’s hard to overestimate the prevalence and importance of wine. Not only is it a marker and reflection of the place where it’s made, but it’s an integral part of French culture and cuisine. It’s a natural pairing with meals and acc... more

I have been following DL on FB and IG for sometime and really appreciate his content. Recently, I decided to give his podcast a try. After listening to a few episodes, I had to stop because of his tendency to interrupt his guests in order to insert his own anecdote. This pattern makes listening to his podcast difficult because you loose track of the narrative. DL is very knowledgeable and has hosted interesting guests, but the constant tendency to interrupt them mid-thought is annoying.
David is engaging and amiable, of course that would come through on his Podcast. I loved his IG lives during Covid. His experience with French culture and food with an American perspective is always enjoyable, no matter what he’s up to. I’d love to see him have his own show where he travels around France, highlighting the everyday instead of just the glorified version we see so much about, hello French truck stops for lunch. I await for each podcast excited, and hope I get to hear his cute littl... more
I have been following David Lebovitz for a while now, and truly, I really enjoy listening to him and reading his books. He is a down to earth and easy going, and he calls out all kinds of amazing and amusing anecdotes about French culture and life in Paris. I enjoy his recipes, his food shopping experiences, his expeditions, and now, his podcasts. Thank you, David!
I enjoyed listening to the recent episode with Phil Rosenthal, who is a national treasure. However, I was frustrated with David when he interrupted a story Phil was telling about his parents and eggs to interject his own story. We never got the end of Phil’s story because he was interrupted. Mind your manners and maybe let your guests finish their story before telling yours, they are after all your guest.
Very interesting and enjoyable podcast. David has a wonderful conversational style with his guests and gives us a great little glimpse into Paris.
