  • Fun

fun podcast and I enjoy the variety of guests. Reason I'm not giving a five is because I truly wish that the host would talk over her guests less

  • Let them talk!

The guests are great, and I love the idea of the podcast, but Jessie could let them talk more. It really bothers me that she seems to know everything and wants to tell their stories more than she lets them speak. Great to do some research before having them on, but unnecessary to say it all.

  • Fantastic podcast!

I love this podcast. It’s a great mix of professionals and self-taught bakers, and Jessie’s enthusiasm for each topic is infectious. She is fantastic at navigating the conversation between very technical information and candid conversations with the guests. It’s become one on of the pods I look forward to each week!

  • I didn’t come here for diet tips

Really disappointed with the last episode. I’m listening to a baking podcast because I like baking. Being told that I can eat “a little something sweet” but only if it’s “seasoned with sugar” like you’d season with salt and only a BITE OF A COOKIE???? I get that sugar isn’t the best for you. But I don’t appreciate the condescension around food on a BAKING PODCAST.

I love the details she includes with each recipe she has taught me so much over the years. My daughter just gave us a few banana muffins she made and they were so good yep she got the recipe off Sally’s website. Thks for such a great podcast

Danish Brunsviger With “More Than Sweet” Author Marie Frank
Q: What sparked the transition from plating complicated desserts to focusing on flavor in every bake?
Marie explains that experimenting with flavor, aided by learning from fellow pastry chefs and practical home experimentation, revealed flavor as the essence she wanted to explore, with ice cream serving as a flexible vehicle to test ideas before applying them to plated desserts.
Klobásník With “The Hot Dog Cookbook” Author Farideh Sadeghin
Q: What inspired the book's focus on hot dogs and regional variations?
The idea came together after a fortuitous outreach from publishers and a strong personal enthusiasm for hot dogs worldwide, plus the opportunity to draw on both traditional and original recipes in a solo project.
Klobásník With “The Hot Dog Cookbook” Author Farideh Sadeghin
Q: Is the dough easy enough for home bakers to tackle?
Yes, the dough is an enriched mixture with an egg yolk, butter, and milk; it's forgiving and designed to be approachable for home bakers, with a straightforward rolling and filling process.
Klobásník With “The Hot Dog Cookbook” Author Farideh Sadeghin
Q: First, tell us what Klobásník is.
Klobásník are Texas pastries where a savory dough is wrapped around a hot dog, usually with cheese and jalapenos, and then baked; they are essentially a giant, handheld pigs in a blanket with regional Tex-Mex influences.
Conchas With Mariela Camacho Of Comadre Panadería
Q: How does your upbringing influence the way you run Comadre Panadería today?
Her experiences with immigrant family dynamics and labor in restaurants shaped a people-first approach, prioritizing livable wages, four weeks of PTO, and a DIY, fully self-funded business that seeks to empower the team and community.
