  • Enjoyable!

Love this show , enjoy Oliver’s approach to enjoying Paris - only thing I don’t get too excited about is when you start talking about your children’s book , it’s rather off topic for a travel show .

  • 10/10 Recommend!

This is by far my favorite podcast of all time! Oliver Gee is an extraordinarily thorough, kind and entertaining interviewer. When he is joined by his wife Lina their sweet banter takes the fun to the next level. I found this podcast a few months ago after the death of my best friend of decades, and hearing Oliver’s lovely voice became a source of daily comfort as I binge listened to the series. In the process, I have learned more French history, geography, cultural customs and even some tidbi... more

Following the Rose Line to the Paris observatory
Q: Nicolas, how are you?
Nicolas answers that he is well and shares a quick perspective on the walk and the observatory experience, setting up the discussion about the Meridian and Arago.
The INIMITABLE Arc de Triomphe: Five things you didn't know
Q: Should visitors climb the Arc de Triomphe to experience the view?
The host and the communications head suggest yes, emphasizing the panoramic rewards despite the effort, especially on a clear or even foggy day, noting the experience is iconic and worth the climb.
The 19th arrondissement of Paris (with a local)
Q: I said that we weren't going to talk to tourists, is there, if you could sum it up in one sentence, now we're talking to tourists, people who've listened to our whole chat here, and they're thinking, by God, I'm going to try the 19th. Give them a sentence of how they should best enjoy it.
If you want to fully experience Paris, sit by the water and watch real Parisians living their daily lives, because that kind of people-watching captures the authentic rhythm of Paris better than any tourist hotspot, and you'll get a sense of community, space, and the slow pace that makes the 19th feel like a real neighborhood.
What to do in Belleville and the 20th district of Paris
Q: Where did the idea to sing Edith Piaf in Belleville come from, especially for a Polish singer living in the neighborhood?
Gosia explains she started learning French by singing Piaf and was drawn to the authenticity and street-rooted emotion of the music, which fits Belleville's vibe and explains why Piaf remains a living part of the district's culture.
The midnight market in Paris you've never heard about
Q: Jaad, what do you want to say to the world?
Jaad emphasizes human connection, explains how he knows the fishermen, negotiates prices, and values the tradition and community of the market over social media or online followings.
