The world feels like a different place from just a couple weeks ago, but it's not. The United States is still in the same place it has been for a long time, if you're a minority. Randy and Don discuss the Black Lives Matter movement, police accountab... more
Right before the COVID pandemic hit, Randy was asked to take on the management of two new teams, which changed his typical role of manager-developer to strictly people management, meetings, and project tracking. Don and Randy discuss the change as it... more
Don and Randy continue their discussion about the business plans in the Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition, this time about the best entries and how the competition played out. Coconuts!
Really appreciate the tech talk, can be a bit off topic and rambling at times but I still think they have a lot of valid points and angles. Ever since I noticed I could crank up the speed to 1.4 with no struggle to keep track of it the podcast became so much better. The tempo was the only thing bugging me before. What I am missing is being an actual part of the conversation which is a testiment to the authenticity.

As a new CTO to a startup, this podcast has been absolutely helpful and informative.
As veterans in the tech space, Randy and Don offer real-world practical perspectives on a wide range of technical topics while also discussing the many people-related issues and challenges that are just as much a part of tech as the code.
Both Don and Randy bring very accessible insight to the workings of being a manager of few and many in the tech industry. Understanding the scope of a project and how to handle clients and employees is shared with a smart, realistic, and human approach. Though, I may be biased, since I'm Randy's wife, but it doesn't change the fact that these two are worth listening to. :)
Great insight for anyone in the tech space, not just CTOs
