  • The Real Creator Deal

Jay Clouse really knows his stuff; but more importantly, he absolutely walks his talk. He goes deeper than just how to make a buck by being a content creator. He digs into how to run an ethical and authentic business that makes a difference. For me, he’s become, over many years, a creator worth listening to, and this weekly podcast exemplifies the kind of quality that he’s committed to bringing. I whole heartedly recommend his podcast.

  • Educational

I’m picky about my pods because a lot of people “teaching” out there, don’t really teach creators actually new stuff (if you’ve been in media for long enough) but found this show via LinkedIn and I’ve been actually writing stuff down! Kudos to the sound design guy, keeps the convo flowing nicely and the music is nice. I would like to see more women? Or maybe just the last few episodes I ran into lots of dudes. There are some brilliant women in the space.

#299: What Nobody Tells You About Publishing a Book—with Award-Winning Podcaster Eric Zimmer
Q: How did you know that it was time to write a book?
He was invited by a major publisher, recognized for the podcast, and realized he already had a coherent framework—the spiritual habits—that could be transformed into a book, making it feasible to pursue a long-held goal with enough space and support to do it well.
#295: Community Building Trends for 2026 with Becky Pierson Davidson
Q: How should memberships handle expectations and communications around changes?
Communicate changes proactively and co-create with members, so transitions (like changing who leads a call) are not a surprise and members feel involved in the evolution of the space.
#295: Community Building Trends for 2026 with Becky Pierson Davidson
Q: What about offline components in memberships?
Offline events, like grad weekends, are seen as critical for retention, providing high-value social experiences and networking that reinforce online engagement; pricing and logistics are carefully modeled to sustain them.
#295: Community Building Trends for 2026 with Becky Pierson Davidson
Q: What is the role of transformation versus activity in a membership?
The discussion centers on balancing a clear transformation roadmap with live, interactive programming; a framework or roadmap helps set direction, but engagement comes from programming that connects members and enables participation.
#295: Community Building Trends for 2026 with Becky Pierson Davidson
Q: How do you define community in the context of building a business?
Becky defines community as a network of peer-to-peer connections and conversations that go beyond one-to-many broadcasting, treating it as a product that people actively nurture and engage with rather than just a marketing channel.
