Ep 588- The Truth About Pelvic Health with Kim Vopni
Q: So incontinence, I'm hearing a lot about that as a symptom. When we're having any of these things, are we needing to go to a doctor?
You can be successful without seeing somebody, but annual pelvic floor physical therapy checkups are highly recommended to catch issues early and optimize function, with many people improving without in-person visits through guided programs.
Ep 594- Healing the Patterns Behind Emotional Eating with Joey Klein
Q: What is the practical framework listeners can use to rewire their patterns around food in everyday life?
Notice the urge, name the feeling, assess if you're in a fight-or-flight state, then either deactivate the fear-based state or activate a love-based state, and practice three competencies: action despite emotion, deactivation of the emotion, and activation of love-based states to sustain healthier decisions.
Ep 594- Healing the Patterns Behind Emotional Eating with Joey Klein
Q: Can you walk us through how you first realized transformation was possible and what immediate changes followed?
The moment I realized I couldn't keep living the way I was living came after a three-day binge when I felt certain I was going to die; the next day I woke up with a conscious acknowledgment that I had rewired the brain to associate alcohol with death, which stopped me from drinking, and I began training my brain toward healthier patterns.
