Reviews

  • Always informative

I am pleased that Pr. Buchs continues to make his sermons and Bible study discussions available. I learn much through his able teaching. I am hopeful that, as he settles into his new post, he lengthens his sermons. It seems that much is left on the table in these shortened efforts.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Worship is Warfare
Q: Do babies who die before baptism go to heaven?
Salvation is through faith, and God's grace can operate even without baptism; examples from Scripture show God's mercy toward those without explicit baptism when they hear the gospel by faith.
Worship is Warfare
Q: What happens if you believe but are not baptized?
Belief is the key for salvation; baptism is necessary for Christians as part of disciple-making, but belief remains the decisive factor for salvation; baptism does not automatically guarantee salvation if one does not believe.
Worship is Warfare
Q: What happens if you are baptized, but you depart the faith?
Baptism is a gift received by faith, but faith must persist; if someone abandons the faith, baptism does not count for salvation in that person, though God calls people to persevere and faith remains the operative factor.
Two Ways & True Worship (2 Samuel 6)
Q: Does that make sense?
Yes, the audience affirmed the distinction between fear, trust, and obedience, and the host continued into the Old Testament narrative to illustrate these concepts.
Caught by Someone: The danger of false worship & false shepherds
Q: Somebody asked, if I go to a church where there is a female pastor who is married to a woman, am I going to hell?
The pastor responds that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ, not by works, and emphasizes that the real danger is following leaders whose lives contradict God's Word; true assurance comes from Jesus' atonement, while recognizing the gravity of unfaithful ministry.
