I have struggled to do team huddles every morning because of lack of content. Now I listen to one of these podcasts every morning on my way to work. By the time I get there I’m FIRED up and have some content to share. The podcasts interview some of the best agents in the business and I’m constantly learning. If I don’t learn something about processes I have some personal motivation to share with my offices. Way to go you guys you’ve created something incredible here.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#551: How to Give Better Feedback Without Losing Trust with Amy Sandler
Q: What should a business owner do to embed Radical Candor across the organization beyond reading the book?
Offer trainings, e-courses, and provide discussion guides; encourage leaders to share stories of receiving candor, start small with pockets of excellence, and create accountability through community and ongoing practice.
#551: How to Give Better Feedback Without Losing Trust with Amy Sandler
Q: Is there a proper cadence or framework for asking for feedback, and how often should leaders solicit it?
Yes—make feedback a regular habit, like weekly or bi-weekly 1-on-1s, and incorporate ongoing check-ins after meetings to keep momentum and avoid defensiveness; it's about consistency, not a rigid schedule.
#551: How to Give Better Feedback Without Losing Trust with Amy Sandler
Q: What are the things you've typically seen where people trip up on Radical Candor, and what is the intuition behind it?
People trip up by turning feedback into a performance with too much formality or by using the sandwich; the approach should be two-way, frequent, and focused on specific observations and next steps, anchored in care and direct challenge.
#555: What Makes a Business Sellable with David Barnett
Q: What are the big elements that make a business sellable?
The core is cash flow and whether that cash flow can be sustained under new ownership, followed by how well the business is documented and whether the new owner can reasonably run it with existing systems, which reduces perceived risk.
#549: Learning the Business End of Business with Brian Kiley
Q: What are some of the things you learned in the first three to five years of business?
He emphasizes creating a long-term vision, stepping back to view the business from above, and defining culture and values before rapid expansion, plus the importance of a systemized approach to payroll and execution.
