Real-life product stories and insights from top Clojure leaders.

We launched this podcast because we're fascinated by a paradox: Clojure is an exceptional language with a powerful philosophy behind it, yet it remains relatively niche in the industry. By talking to teams who've actually implemented Clojure in production, we're trying to understand this disconnect.

  • Love hearing the stories

This has become my favorite technical podcast in 2025. I don’t even work in Clojure but I love hearing the stories about how technologist and founders leverage the language for maximum value. Everyone can take something from this podcast about how to balance passion and practicality. The hosts ask thoughtful questions and leave the guests with plenty of room to share and expound. I am now desperately looking any excuse to work Clojure into my job!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 10. Open-source is like all eyes looking at it, with Cam Saul, Metabase
Q: What do you hope to see in Clojure and the Clojure community in the future?
I'd love to see the community grow a little bit, and I hope to see efforts that bring more people into the language.
Episode 10. Open-source is like all eyes looking at it, with Cam Saul, Metabase
Q: Have you experienced a need to change your development process when integrating Clojure into your technical stack?
We used to target Heroku as a deployment target, which meant being memory conscious due to RAM restrictions, so we had to stream results from a database to avoid memory issues.
Episode 7. And until you get to that point, you should be living in pain, right?, with Nathan Marz, Red Planet Labs
Q: What's the part of Clojure, besides macros, that you consistently find challenging to explain to teammates?
Nathan mentions the complexities related to sterilizing functions and how that requires a detailed understanding of Clojure's internals.
Episode 5. The capacity to learn new languages is very important, HolidayPirates
Q: How do you approach enforcing the shape of the data in your system?
We keep it at the boundaries, using spec with schema. We use maps everywhere.
Episode 4. Is it easy to manage team of such highly qualified engineers?, with James Trunk, Griffin
Q: What would be a good way to create more Clojure jobs?
Create more Clojure jobs by building successful businesses that run on a 100 percent Clojure stack.
