  • Used to listen until today

Today they decided to become a propaganda outlet for the trump regime and I canceled my economist subscriptions in their entirety. He has never been brave, and you have been brainwashed. Shameful reporting.

  • Chavez

Listening to this episode today and the guest can’t help but try and sneak in the lie about the people “suffering” under Hugo Chavez. A man who reduced poverty more than anybody in the history of their country and was extremely popular. The economist is and always will be western propaganda. Perhaps the people of Venezuela would have been better off if the Bank of England hadn’t stolen their gold reserves. Interesting how they just gloss over all the US sanctions too, which have crippled the cou... more

  • Clearly Biased Reporting

I used to be a regular subscriber of the economist and read the publications in print regularly. I respected what I thought was a news platform that focused on facts and science based decision making. This podcast is nothing like that, it’s focused on attacking America and the decisions it makes almost every episode. facts be damned! The bias is clear and for someone that just wants a quick objective view of the world events daily, this is failing. Especially the episode where you called De Niro... more

  • Please choose your advertisers more wisely

I listen to The Intelligence regularly and enjoy the reporting and factual journalism. What I do not enjoy is hearing political advertising especially pro Trump propaganda that is most definitely NOT factual.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Power ranges: AI faces supply crunch
Q: What are the big firms doing about this shortage?
They are pouring money into building out data centers and securing access through deals, while industry players push for expanded fabrication capacity and, in some cases, exploring more self-reliant approaches to chip production.
Power ranges: AI faces supply crunch
Q: So you talk about processing power, but what is there actually a shortage of?
There's a shortage of powerful GPUs, data-center capacity, and the fabs that manufacture AI chips; hardware timelines are much longer than software, leading to a disconnect that constrains how quickly AI services can scale.
Beirut watch: can Lebanon subdue Hizbullah?
Q: What is the line of argument about Lebanon's constitutional requirements for major decisions?
The guest explains that Lebanon is a confessional democracy where big decisions require buy-in from every religious group, so consensus is essential and not easily achieved.
White hat, black box: AI’s next chapter
Q: So Mythos, what is Mythos?
Mythos is Anthropic's largest and most capable AI system to date, developed to probe the edges of what a highly autonomous 'hacker-like' AI can do, while being kept behind closed doors to study safety and impact with trusted partners before any broader release.
Now boarding: America seizes an Iranian ship
Q: How has market sentiment reacted to the blockade and potential reopening?
Markets reacted with volatility: an initial drop and then rebounds tied to tweets and perceived progress, but price movements remain closely tied to expectations about physical reopenings and risk of renewed conflict.
