This month the Classic Film Jerks do something a little different as Jeff and Evan watch what has been called the "greatest" concert film, 1984's Stop Making Sense. Listen to hear Jeff's feelings about the Tom Tom Club.
Evan and Jeff celebrate Halloween by sinking their teeth into the first great(?) horror movie, 1922's Nosferatu. Is it great? Is it a classic? Does Jeff have very strong feelings on personal hygiene? Listen to find out.

I rarely review but seeing other reviews of this podcast made me want to. If you are looking for people to wax poetic and kiss the butt of everyone involved with the films production go somewhere else. If you want to hear funny people talking about classic movies and are not aghast if some actor from the 50s gets his name pronounced incorrectly your in the right spot. Making fun of something does not mean you dont respect or enjoy it as the numerous host and guests have proved over the years.
… that these guys are jerks! A lot of what they’re saying is funny and I like some of the bits they do, but some of it… wow! The way they talk about women and s ex is a cross between 12 year old boys and out of touch, dirty old men. I’m not a huge fan of the modern day recasts either. Mostly because they’ve clearly only ever heard of like 4 actors. The whole thing is equal parts laugh out loud and equal parts weird and cringy. I haven’t listened to the newer episodes yet, so maybe the new hosts ... more
So this is 2 guys with very limited knowledge of classic film, or movies at all for that matter. They watch some of the best films ever made and spend the entire show making fun of the films. They can’t grasp even the most basic of plots. They are fascinated by the fact that people smoked more and wore hats in the past. So if you are looking for any real insight or even respect, these are not your guys. If you watch MST3K and think, “I’d like this if weren’t funny”, then this is your podca... more
I wish they would be mindful of the era the films were made. Not judge them by today's culture and sensibilities. Very simplistic and superficial. And Michael, PLEASE STOP inserting the word "like" a half dozen times in EVERY sentence.
Did everything they could to disengage the films — fine to critique production, director’s choices and whatnot, but that’s like a pre-req/obstacle to work through before analysis and that’s like…the whole show… stops before it even starts
Very old episode so perhaps things have changed (not going to listen to enough recent episodes to find out) but the white christmas episode was especially bad — if anyones looking for actual interesting film commentary, todd mcgowan and ryan engley of the pod... more
