In their complimentary comments on the Democratic control of the NLRB, they neglected to mention that the NLRB recently imposed a multi million dollar fine on the Alabama miner’s union for lost income to the mine company!!

UNACCEPTABLE for a podcast extolling the virtues of the working class, shame on you!

  • Essential listening for the 21st century!

This podcast eschews the boring, self-congratulatory theatrical filler so ubiquitous in today’s political podcasts and cuts straight to the important, relevant stuff. Guests offer clear, compelling analyses of the systemic forces that have shaped working-class lives and politics up to the present and beyond, and in every episode, listeners will get a tangible sense of what the U.S. might look like if it really were run by and for working people. Definitely in my top 5 podcasts!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 14: Wall Street's War on Workers with Les Leopold
Q: How widespread are mass layoffs in our economy today?
Mass layoffs are prevalent and growing, affecting millions across various industries, including high-tech.
Ep 15: When Compromises Come Home to Roost: With Adolph Reed Jr. and Mark Dudzic
Q: Can you talk about a few of those compromises in addition to the ones Mark mentioned that led to the alienation of working class voters from the Democratic Party?
The compromises began as far back as 1944 and through the years led to measures like employer-provided healthcare, which failed to address the foundational needs of working-class voters, culminating in a lack of substantial support from the Democratic Party, especially since the Clinton administration.
Ep 15: When Compromises Come Home to Roost: With Adolph Reed Jr. and Mark Dudzic
Q: Can you talk a little bit about that experience, and particularly about concessionary bargaining and its impact?
In the 80s and 90s, union members faced plant closings and layoffs, leading to precarious job situations and erosion of labor standards, making the environment tough for workers.
