  • So many to choose from

Wow, huge resource and thousands of talks to choose from. Not enough time in the day to listen! Makes a huge difference for me to listen whilst driving or out working in the garden or shed.

And if I may say, how sad I am about what Nomebee describes their experience was around the word of God as a child. I can see how one would get embittered by such an experience, so very sad. Family time around the word should be a safe place. I’m sending love.

  • Flashbacks of being beaten by my dad

Takes me right back to being forced to do the christadelphian bible readings everyday as a child and being beaten by my dad for ‘not sitting still’, ‘not keeping my finger on the verse’, ‘losing my place’. Suffer the little children indeed.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why you should read the Bible #14 'Can Anyone explain the Trinity?'
Q: And as somebody who's had conversations with those who believe in the Trinity, how do you deal with some of those verses that on the surface appear to be supporting the idea that Jesus and God are one?
The speaker argues that many so-called problematic verses are understood by examining context and the broader biblical theme, suggesting Jesus is a manifestation of God's character rather than God Himself in unity with the Father.
Why you should believe the Bible #1 'The Concept of Miracles'
Q: Why do you think that God filled the Bible with so many miracles, especially when miracles don't seem to happen today? What was the purpose of miracles back then?
Miracles were performed to show that Jesus was sent by God, serving as proof of His divine authority.
Why you should believe the Bible #1 'The Concept of Miracles'
Q: What makes you confident that the Bible is truly from God?
Participants provided various reasons including archaeological evidence and the consistency of the Bible over time.
Why You Should Believe the Bible #2 Why Jesus had to Die?
Q: Why did Jesus have to die on the cross in the way that he did?
The method of Jesus' death was significant as it was a public event designed to draw attention and illustrate the sacrifice He made, ultimately leading to the spread of His teachings.
Manasseh: Amazing grace #3 'God's Flexible Response'
Q: Why does Kings present a different picture of Manasseh than Chronicles?
Kings details a prophecy connected to the punishment of Manasseh, whereas Chronicles focuses on his repentance, possibly to highlight a different aspect of his story.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Bible Standard

What is The Bible Standard about and what kind of topics does it cover?

This program offers devotional and scholarly Bible study with a distinctly Christadelphian lens. Episodes blend scripture readings, expository teaching, and practical faith applications across topics like Paul's journeys, baptism, atonement, textual criticism of translations, and debates on doctrinal issues such as the Trinity. A recurring strength is the heavy use of scriptural citations and verse-by-verse exploration, often delivered in a lecture or devotional format that can feel like a guided study session. The show's approach is likely to appeal to listeners who value Bible-centric instruction, doctrinal clarity, and a faith-based interpretation of current world topics through a biblical framework.
