I listened to this because it showed up in my feed. This podcast is decent, but is not nearly as good as The Hidden People. I like the voice actors and the music. The sound design isn’t great though. One example is in E2 when Meg is on the swing, it is supposed to sound squeaky and rusty I assume. Instead it overpowers the dialogue, sounding like an elephant cry on repeat. If the sound was less heavy handed, I would rate this higher.
Took such an intimate and painful experience and somehow made it hauntingly beautiful and captivating.
This was well written and expertly edited. I enjoyed it very much and definitely needed the tissues at the end.
Really good series, when I got to episode four I thought we were getting another THP twist of a big conspiracy but thankfully the series stays grounded like their earlier audio dramas. I’d say if I had to give a gripe Sammi and Meg’s VA sounded really similar, did anyone else find this? Probably just me TBH.
Catharsis is a deeply moving story about grief and our desire to make meaning in the world around us. Catharsis is written so well that I’d advise you to listen with care, as you deeply connect with Meg’s emotional journey.
