Reviews

4.7 out of 5 stars from 202 ratings
  • Too much filler.

Really hard to get into when each episode is a few minutes of actual book after a request to review, plug for the sponsor, ad from the sponsor, recap, and then followed by cast and crew interviews (some with characters who haven’t even been introduced yet) and then credits. I listen while I work so having to stop to skip to the next episode then skip all the stuff to get to the next paragraph of the actual book doesn’t work for me. Maybe I’ll try the audio book instead.

  • Good show

Intriguing mystery drama. I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 because of two things: 1. unnecessarily overuse of the F word. It adds nothing to the story at all

    2. There is some subtle racism in that the Cielo mentions “white people stuff”. Why include that? We get it, she is of Hispanic origin. Great, that’s fine. Why slander others?

  • Wish it did have so much commentary

I really like this show, so creative and interesting to listen to. The commentary by the actor , writer etc. pulls me out of the story and I lose character interest.

Q: What is the biggest difference between acting in traditional media and an audio drama like this?
Auditioning in a studio without visual cues means relying on imagination and sound design; performances feel more like radio theater where tone, pacing, and internal emotions carry the scene.

It centers on the aftermath of a massive earthquake seen through the eyes of Cielo, a young girl who stays behind to search for her mom, navigating a ruined Eugene, Oregon and gradually revealing deeper layers of the narrative.
