In their most recent episode they decide to cover the recent NY Times article which addresses the lack of black directors/films in the Criterion Collection. But, clearly, they only covered the article out of their apparent white guilt b/c they spend most of the time defending CC and its president and collectively struggle to think of black directors/films worthy of being added to the collection, admitting to not having seen such titles as Boyz in the Hood and Pariah. Their other episodes are jus... more

The hosts are all super knowledgeable about films in general, they have an awesome flow, and are genuinely fun to listen to.
I just subscribed and look forward to listening to more episodes!
Love the concept of this show, will definitely keep coming back!
The podcast title is spot on, casual cinema discussion. I like the laidback, friendly tone of this show. They discuss a great mix of movies from new releases to classics. Particularly enjoy that they dedicate episodes to Criterion releases. Perhaps the best aspect of this podcast is they are clearly very knowledgeable and the discussions are intelligent... but they don't speak down to the listener. Love hearing smart film discussion with the "film snob" attitude!
My sons and I do an entertainment podcast and I like these guys. I feel like I could talk movies with these guys, which is huge for me. So many movie podcasts are guys that I don’t like. These are likeable guys.

Fun, extremely well informed, and no pretentiousness!! They have a great format that includes spoiler and non spoiler sections; perfect for films you might not have managed to see yet! Definitely check this show out!
Rising stars, the guys bring personality and intelligence your ears are longing for! Must listen.
Wow what a great podcast their most recent episode “Mandy” is a wonderful delight talking about the new Nicolas Cage film. Who doesn’t love a terrible Nick Cage film. Make sure to check out this podcast you’ll be glad you did.
Relaxed, informative, fun but definitely not casual, this podcast is a must for anyone who has a love for cinema. Equally at home with mainstream multiplex fodder and smaller arthouse fare, the hosts are open-minded with regard to genre and have a keen eye for story, technical and performance prowess. And if that wasn't enough, they like to talk TV too! Well worth subscribing :)
Really enjoyed the chemistry, knowledge and enthusiasm the guys bring to the show. The happy surprise to find the episodes focus on multiple movies was ace and the insight was excellent. Check this out movie fans and you won't be disappointed.
Hey guys, not sure if my last review was submitted, so here’s another one! I’m loving the casual approach to film analysis here, very much what we here at Collateral Cinema are going for. Also, any movie podcast that dives into Criterion Collection movies are always primo. Will definitely binge this show for the rest of the day! 5/5
