Reviews

4.7 out of 5 stars from 413 ratings
  • Great that they have broadened out the PMs

With CEO Mike Gitlin hosting, we are hearing from a broader range of Capital PMs. I think it would be great if they continued to do that and let us hear from everyone over time. The deeper dives from analysts are also useful. It would be great to hear from all the equity analysts.

Skills that matter in an AI world
Q: Why did you get a Harvard Law degree, and why did you never use it?
He explains that the choice was about positioning himself near the center of opportunity during the Internet boom; law was a backdrop to pivot into finance where he could access complex information and competitive dynamics. He notes practical use shifted toward a commercial lens rather than legal practice.
Stress testing AI Bulls vs. Bears
Q: What do you expect to happen in the near term versus the long term regarding AI productivity and jobs?
Near term: continued productivity improvements and a capex cycle; long term: a broader productivity boost with potential job shifts rather than large-scale job losses, requiring adaptability.
Stress testing AI Bulls vs. Bears
Q: What is the four-quadrant framework you developed, and how does it help in understanding AI adoption and policy?
The framework maps AI adoption on the x-axis and policy accommodation on the y-axis, producing four scenarios from a high-adoption, high-accommodation world (supercycle) to a low-adoption, low-accommodation one (bubble/bust).
Stress testing AI Bulls vs. Bears
Q: Jared, can you explain what the Nightwatch is and why it matters for evaluating AI risks?
The Nightwatch is an internal Capital Group risk process that assembles a cross-section of investors to create scenarios—like a pandemic or AI-related risks—and then assesses where portfolios would sit in those scenarios to insulate or lean into outcomes.
How GM's Chair and CEO is redefining what's possible at a legacy company
Q: What would you tell your younger self about leading through change?
Build the right team, embrace change from day one, and move fast. You can't just run the business the way you did in the past—you must continuously adapt and push forward with urgency.
